SAISON INFORMATION SYSTEMS CO., LTD.
SAISON INFORMATION SYSTEMS CO., LTD. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as Saison Information Systems) and Asuene Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, CEO: Kohei Nishiwada; hereinafter referred to as Asuene) will begin offering an automated CO2 emissions calculation service that will accelerate decarbonization management from Wednesday, November 1, 2023, by linking Saison Information Systems' "HULFT Square" with "Asuene," a cloud service for visualizing, reducing, and reporting CO2 emissions.
Asuene provides cloud services and SX consulting to companies and local governments to visualize and reduce CO2 emissions across the entire supply chain from Scope 1 to 3. Leveraging its strength in one-stop decarbonization solutions, the company offers comprehensive services amid growing corporate needs for decarbonization. Saison Information Systems' HULFT Square is a Japanese iPaaS (cloud-based data integration platform) that supports the "data preparation for data utilization" and "data integration connecting business systems" necessary for achieving digital transformation. It enables the integration of various data distributed and managed across on-premise, cloud, and SaaS environments across multiple business systems, industries, countries, and regions.
HULFT Square handles the integration with the internal systems required for calculating CO2 emissions and the conversion to the data format required by Asuene, allowing for no-code cross-referencing with the master data required for calculations. As it is a cloud service, there is no need to set up a system environment for implementation, and it can be implemented in a short period of time. HULFT Square can also be used to data integration with other companies, enabling Scope 1-3 compliance and the use of other companies' data. These integrations support customers' efforts to reduce CO2 emissions.
Current status of companies moving towards decarbonization
The movement toward "carbon neutrality by 2050" is accelerating globally. In Japan, the Corporate Governance Code, revised in June 2021, states that Prime Market listed companies should "improve the quality and quantity of disclosure based on the TCFD* or an equivalent framework." In addition, small and medium-sized enterprises in the supply chain are also being asked to make CO2 emissions visible and take measures to reduce them, making it necessary for all companies to accurately visualize their CO2 emissions.
Issues regarding visualization and reduction of CO2 emissions
Many companies have already begun efforts toward decarbonization. However, the majority of companies only visualize and understand their emissions once a year or quarter. To achieve decarbonization, it is important to implement the PDCA cycle as follows:
- Visualize CO2 emissions to understand the current situation
- Planning for reducing emissions
- Executing the plan
- Regular checks and measures
However, there are issues with the "regular checks" required to implement the PDCA cycle, and regular checks have not yet been carried out.
- Collecting internal data necessary for visualization
- Increased man-hours due to manual linkage to visualization services
By collaborating with Asuene, companies can solve the challenges of visualizing and reducing CO2 emissions and further improve operational efficiency. We support companies aiming for carbon-neutral management and contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
Future developments
Details of this service will be explained by Yoshihiro Iwata, Co-Founder and COO of Asuene Co., Ltd., at the HULFT Technology Days event hosted by Saison Information Systems.
