Saison Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as Saison Technology) will begin offering the "HULFT 10 Upgrade Analysis Service" on February 27th for HULFT users considering migrating to the latest version of its file integration middleware, "HULFT 10." This service analyzes environment configuration files to identify recommended new features and changes in specifications compared to the previous version, free of charge.

background

Corporate IT systems consist of a mixture of on-premise legacy systems and SaaS services, and mutual file sharing connects these different systems to ensure smooth business collaboration. HULFT, the de facto standard in Japan in this field, supports many connections with a variety of systems, including mission-critical system, core system, and information systems departments must formulate migration plans while keeping in mind points of incompatibility between versions, such as identifying connections between systems, building test environments and checking operation, as well as functional changes that come with version upgrades.

Furthermore, migrating to the latest version requires careful consideration to avoid unintended behavior when data integration between systems. Saison Technology analyzes the current system's configuration files and usage logs on behalf of customers to identify important points regarding functional differences between the old and new versions, as well as functions that can be improved by replacing them with new functions, thereby supporting a smooth migration to HULFT 10. Previously, customers had to check the manuals to understand the functional differences between versions, but this reduces the man-hours required for advance research and testing in preparation for migration planning by approximately 80%*1.

Overview of the "HULFT 10 Version Upgrade Analysis Service"

To apply for this service, simply upload the configuration files and usage logs from the previous version, "HULFT8," to the designated cloud storage. Saison Technology will then use a dedicated program to analyze incompatible features, such as functions, that will be present when upgrading to "HULFT 10." The service will then provide the customer with a report listing items that require configuration changes during the migration and recommended functions that have been improved in the new version.

This reduces the man-hours required by engineers to investigate the scope of impact before upgrading, including scrutinizing manuals, understanding the functions to be used, and conducting operational tests, from 10 man-days to 2 man-days *1.

At the start of the service, the analysis will focus on the Windows version of HULFT8, which has the most users, but in the future, support will be available for zOS, IBMi, AIX, Linux, and HULFT7.
