Connecting support
Promoting employee health leads to social contribution
As teleworking and other such activities have become established, concerns have arisen about the impact on walking habits. It's said that the average daily calorie deficit between commuting to the office and commuting from home is 390 kcal*, equivalent to one large serving of rice. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the financial difficulties facing families, highlighting the need for support for children. For this reason, we launched a "Donation Walk" in October 2021. This initiative converts the number of steps taken by employees into weight and donates the same weight of food to organizations in need.
In March 2022, the number of steps reached 231,056,987, and we made donations to Community Space Enkuru (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture), which operates a children's cafeteria run by Certified NPO Free Space Tamariba, and provided school meals to children in Ghana through Certified NPO CLOUDY (formerly known as Doooooooo). We will continue these efforts in the future to support the health promotion of our employees, and hope to connect the steps of each individual employee to contributions to society.
