The latest major version of data integration middleware" DataSpider Servista," "DataSpider Servista 5," was released on February 9, 2026.

For many years, DataSpider Servista has supported data integration operations across industries and sectors as data integration platform that combines ease of use with simple operations and flexibility to adapt to changes in business processes and systems.

DataSpider Servista 5 is a "bridge" that seamlessly connects the boundaries between legacy and modern systems, with an eye toward data utilization in the age of generative AI. It reorganizes how to safely connect data from existing systems and private environments. Furthermore, by carefully reviewing even the less visible aspects and steadily improving safety and reliability, it has quietly evolved into a "platform that can be used for the next 10 years."

DataSpider Servista 5's "Three Evolutions"

Evolution of usability - DataSpider Studio renewal -

In DataSpider Servista 5, the development client "DataSpider Studio" has been revamped to be web-based, with significant improvements being made, particularly in terms of operability. This makes everyday tasks more comfortable, and even those who primarily use the previous Studio for Desktop will find it "familiar" to them.

• DataSpider Studio for Desktop, which was previously deprecated, is no longer included in the package.

The main improvements are as follows:

• Changed to a modern design to improve visibility and usability
• Optimized communication frequency and volume with DataSpider Server for smooth operation
• Expanded display information in the Property Inspector, now also supports sorting and filtering
• Optimized display of tooltips, etc., and improved operability in every detail
• Changed to display execution logs without omitting them, and improved display performance
• Automatically saves window size and layout settings, and restarts with the same state as when you last closed the program.
• Added drop-down selection and filtering functions to the global resource creation screen
• You can now copy the list displayed in Studio with Ctrl+C.
• Session timeout time can now be flexibly configured according to security policies

Evolution of "connecting" - Expanding connection methods

With the spread of generative AI and cloud computing, DataSpider Servista 5 has expanded its connection methods to enable flexible connection to a variety of systems and services.

With new features such as the "Global Proxy" and individual URL encoding settings in the REST adapter, we have made advancements not only in terms of "where to connect" but also in terms of "how to connect."

The main improvements are as follows:

• A new function "Global Proxy" has been added, allowing you to switch the proxy server used for each connection destination.
• New Snowflake adapter added, facilitating integration of Snowflake with other services and systems, helping build a modern data stack
• Improved development efficiency with official support for SAP S/4HANA Cloud connectivity, addition of test mode, and schema changes without restarting
• Supports connection with HULFT 10, enabling orchestration of HULFT 10 from DataSpider via API Gateway
• Enhanced Google BigQuery adapter allows data to be imported directly into BigQuery without going through Google Cloud Storage
• Enhanced REST adapter: URL encoding can now be individually configured on a character-by-character basis depending on the connection destination.
• The connection method with Notes clients has been changed to via "DataSpider Proxy for Notes," and it is now also compatible with UNIX/Linux platforms.

Evolution of safety, security and performance - Renewal of internal infrastructure (Java) -

We have reviewed the internal infrastructure, which is not visible in daily operations, and have steadily strengthened safety, stability, and performance.

Through infrastructure-level improvements, including a revamped Java execution environment, the platform has evolved into a more reliable data integration platform that can withstand long-term operation and future expansion.

The main improvements are as follows:

• The included Java Runtime Environment (JRE) has been updated from the previous Java 8 to Java 21.
• DataSpider Servista internal processing is compatible with the latest security infrastructure, enabling secure integration with cloud and external systems. It also follows future international standards and industry guidelines, ensuring safety.
• The default character encoding has been unified from platform-dependent to UTF-8, reducing the risk of data inconsistencies and garbled characters due to differences in character codes. This has been improved to enable safe operation across different platforms.
• Stable operation can be expected thanks to optimization of internal processing (JVM), improvements to memory management (garbage collection), and enhanced runtime compilation (JIT).

DataSpider celebrates its 25th anniversary and continues to evolve

SAP Adapter Updates

The connection method for the SAP adapter and SAP trigger has been changed from via SAP EICS and OpenJMS to a connection via the adapter alone.
As a result, the connection settings for SAP no longer need to be registered in SAP EICS, but are now registered as global resources.
Due to the above changes, when upgrading from an older version, it will be necessary to create a global resource.
SAP triggers now also support TID.

Access Adapter Update

The connection method for the Access adapter has been changed from via the JDBC Proxy Server to connecting via the adapter alone.
This means that you do not need to install a JDBC Proxy Server when using the Access Adapter.
Due to the above changes, when upgrading from an older version, it will be necessary to change the global resource settings.

Simplify your work! New Box Adapter features: "Shared Link" and "File Request"

Two sharing methods: "Invitation (Collaboration)" and "Shared Link/File Request"
There are two main ways to "share" content on Box.

• Invitation (Collaboration)
  By setting "Invitation (Collaboration)" for content, you can share content with people who have Box accounts.
• Shared Links and File Requests
  You can share content with people who do not have a Box account by creating a "shared link" or "file request" and passing the URL.

In DataSpider Servista 4.3 SP 2, the "Shared Link" and "File Request" functions have been added to the Box adapter.

With this new feature, you can, for example, replace the task of sending password-protected ZIP files via email (PPAP) with sending a "shared link" or "file request" URL via email.
This not only improves business operations by achieving both security and convenience, but also enables more flexible file sharing and data integration.

We've also added the ability to retrieve file or folder attribute information from Box's content ID.

DataSpider Servista 4.3 is based on the theme of "DX collaboration platform" and helps companies resolve challenges in promoting DX and maintain and strengthen their competitiveness.
We will define four challenges in promoting DX and release new functions that will help realize DX.

1. Expanding connectivity options for new services
   We will release an adapter that will make it easier to introduce new digital technologies and help strengthen the competitiveness of our customers' companies.
   (Tegaki, DataRobot, Box, Google Cloud Platform)
2. Streamlining system operations
   In order to promote DX, it is important to have a system in place to prevent the rising costs of operation and maintenance caused by the introduction of digital technology.
   In this release, we have added new CLI Console commands to streamline DataSpider Servista system operations, as well as a "GUIDE TO AUTOMATION USING THE CLI Console" that introduces automation use cases that combine CLI Console commands.
3. Strengthening data utilization and collaboration
   Analyzing current issues based on data and deriving actions to take to expand business from the data are also important elements in achieving DX. This release supports integration with HULFT DataCatalog, a metadata management platform that collects, organizes, and catalogs scattered metadata and generates inspiration from data.
4. Improved security
   As a security measure required in the digital transformation era, we have strengthened the security of various DataSpider Servista DataSpider Servista.

Other improvements include functionality improvements, support for upgrading various connection adapter destinations, and bug fixes (see the product release notes for details).

We have added a new connection adapter, "DataSpider Adapter for Google Cloud Platform." This adapter includes adapters that can connect to "Google BigQuery" and "Google Cloud Storage."

Google BigQuery Adapter
This adapter enables connection to Google BigQuery, a data analysis platform for Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This connection adapter allows you to connect BigQuery to a wide variety of systems and data without writing any code.
By using it in combination with the Google Cloud Storage adapter that will be released at the same time, you can automate the entire process, from inputting data into GCP, to analyzing it in Google BigQuery, and using the analysis results externally.

Usage examples

• DataSpider allows you to collect data from various internal and external systems, such as databases, mission-critical system, core system, SFA/CRM, etc. By collecting data in BigQuery, you can build a full-fledged data analysis platform simply by operating the GUI.
• DataSpider allows you to issue various search queries to data on BigQuery, and the analysis results can be linked to various external systems for use.

Google Cloud Storage Adapter
This enables you to connect to Google Cloud Storage, GCP's object storage. This enables you to receive and transfer data to use various GCP services such as BigQuery, and data integration with systems on GCP.

Enhancements to existing connections

[Improved Salesforce.com connection function]

We have enhanced the connection functionality of the Salesforce Adapter and Salesforce Bulk Adapter.

• Salesforce Adapter Enhancements
  • Now supports operation on "Amazon Linux AMI" and "Amazon Linux 2"
  • Newly supports connection with "Salesforce API 43.0"
  • The following new features have been added:
    *This can be used when you select the global resource "API 43.0" in [Destination].
    • Support for time type (time data type)
    • Added "File Upload Process" to upload or update files to a Content Version (ContentVersion) using the REST API.
      *File size limit is 2GB (including headers)
    • Added the [DuplicateRule Header (allowSave)] property item to the [SOAP Header Settings] tab of the Global Resource, which allows you to skip alerts and save duplicate records even if the alert option is enabled.
    • Added a function that allows you to narrow down the condition items by entering or selecting values in the column under "Select Condition Items" on the "Create SOQL (Search Condition)" screen.
• Salesforce Bulk Adapter Enhancements
  • Now supports operation on "Amazon Linux AMI" and "Amazon Linux 2".
  • Now supports connection with "Salesforce Bulk API 43.0".
  • Added the following new features:
    *This can be used when you select the global resource "API 43.0" in [Destination].
    • Support for time type (time data type)
    • Added the property item [Output only error result records] to the [Bulk Operation Settings] tab to output only error records from the acquired batch results.

[Improved email sending and receiving functions]

Supports OAuth 2.0 authentication

• "Mail Adapter" and "Gmail Adapter" now support connections using OAuth 2.0 authentication
  (Supported operations: receiving emails (IMAP4), processing multiple emails, sending a single email)
  *It is necessary to create a global resource dedicated to OAuth 2.0 authentication.

[Support for new versions of existing compatible connections]

• Supports connection to Dr.Sum 5.5/Dr.Sum Datalizer 5.5
  • Added to the supported connection destinations for "Dr.Sum Adapter"
• Supports connection to SQL Server 2019
  • Added support for connection versions of "SQL Server Adapter"
  • Added to the supported version of repository DB
• Supports connection to DB2 for i 7.4
  • Added to the supported connection versions of "DB2 for i Adapter"
• Supports connection to Amazon RDS for Oracle 19c
  • Added support for new connection versions for the "Amazon RDS for Oracle Adapter"

    *When using it as a repository DB, the "Database character set" must be set to "AL32UTF8 Unicode UTF-8 general-purpose character set".
• Supports the latest version of DataSpider BPM
  • "DataSpider BPM Adapter" now supports connection to "DataSpider BPM 2.6"
    *The only supported version is DataSpider BPM 2.6.

We have launched the new "DataSpider Adapter for DataRobot," a connection function to the machine learning automation platform DataRobot. This connection adapter makes it possible to input data into DataRobot's prediction pipeline and obtain prediction results.

DataSpider's functions can automate the "pre- and post-processing of AI" required for machine learning.

When combined with an existing adapter, processing time can be reduced.

• The adapter license is shared with the Excel adapter (with Select, the Excel adapter WRITE license).

• A function that can significantly speed up repeated writing processes (approximately 10 times faster than existing Excel adapters*)
  *These are reference values based on our own measurements. Results may vary depending on your usage environment, and we do not guarantee processing speed.
• The ease of use of the conventional Excel adapter remains the same.
• Easier to use UI and settings
  (Specify the write position in R1C1 format, specify "time" or "boolean value" as the type, specify the write start condition in detail, and specify the sheet addition position)

• Official support for AWS Linux
  • The supported operating systems are now "Amazon Linux AMI" and "Amazon Linux 2," which are officially provided and supported by AWS (Amazon Web Services) for use on Amazon EC2.
    When using DataSpider on AWS, it becomes easier to use it on an officially supported OS.
• Added a CUI installer that does not require a GUI.
  • A CUI installer has been added for the Linux x64 version, making setup easier when using on the cloud.

Other improvements include functionality improvements, support for upgrading various connection adapter destinations, and bug fixes (see the product release notes for details).

• Functions released after "DataSpider Servista 4.1 SP5" (such as the "Tegaki Adapter," a dedicated connection adapter for the "Tegaki" OCR service for handwritten forms) will be supported in "DataSpider Servista 4.2 SP1." If you wish to use the relevant functions until then, please use "DataSpider Servista 4.1 SP6."

Tegaki is a service that enables OCR handwriting reading using AI (deep learning).When using a Tegaki adapter with DataSpider, handwritten data can be converted into an image file that can be read by Tegaki OCR, the converted data read as digital data by Tegaki is then sent to DataSpider via API, the read data is processed to fit the business system, and the results are checked and approved by a human, after which it is registered in a database, etc. - a workflow can be developed to suit the business.
