License Unit

• (1) Main License
  • A "Server 4 Core License" is required for every 4 physical cores.
    If you are using a machine with 5 or more cores, please apply the "Server Additional 2 Core License" for the 5th core and beyond.
• (2) Development client, optional product (adapter)
  • The "Server 4 Core License" includes a development client (for 5 simultaneous connections). However, the "Server Additional 2 Core License" does not include a development client.
  • For optional product (adapters), regardless of the number of cores, one license for optional product (adapter) must be purchased for each computer (node) used.

Use in a redundant environment

If you want to use a spare machine for a machine on which DataSpider is installed and DataSpider is running, you will need a "hot backup license."
In principle, the hot backup license requires the same number of adapters as the production machine. (The adapter price is the same as the production machine.)
Regarding licenses, you will need the number of licenses according to the number of cores in the chassis you will prepare as a spare machine, not the chassis of the production machine.
If the DataSpider server is not running and is on standby, it is considered cold standby and no license is required.

• (1)HA cluster configuration
  • A "hot backup license" is required to use the standby DataSpider while it is running.
    However, if the standby DataSpider is not running, no charges will be incurred.
• (2)FT (Fault Tolerant) server configuration
  • A license is not required for the standby system of the FT (Fault Tolerant) server.

Use in a development environment

• (1)Main License
  • Please use the "Development Server License".
    The "Development Server License" is charged per "server (node)" for development and testing servers, not per core.
    The "Development Server License" requires the purchase of a production license, and it is not possible to use the "Development Server License" alone.
• (2)Development client optional product (adapter)
  • The "Development Server License" includes a development client (5 simultaneous connections).
    optional product (adapters) required for development and testing servers will be purchased separately at the development license fee.

Use in a virtualized environment

Charges are based on the number of cores assigned to the guest OS. Up to 4 cores are considered one license, and for the 5th core and beyond, please apply the "Server Additional 2 Core License." optional product (adapters) are charged for each guest OS.

If you use features such as live migration (※) for the purpose of redundant configuration, the number of licenses will be 1.

• This refers to the ability to move the OS to another server or switch hardware.

Use in a cloud environment

Even in a cloud environment, charges are based on the number of cores. The licensing concept conforms to "Use in a virtualized environment."
However, if the number of cores is unclear, charges will be based on the number of vCPUs.

Use when systems are running in parallel

When replacing a server and temporarily running parallel systems, the following policy applies:
In addition, parallel operation of our products refers to the state in which the product is installed in an environment different from the operating environment, regardless of the operating status of the product.

• (1)Free period
  • There is no additional charge for parallel operation within 60 days.
    Please install your license on a different server.
• (2)Parallel operation beyond the free period
  • If you plan to continue using the service for more than 61 days, please purchase a "Monthly License & Support" or additional license.
    If you purchase a "Monthly License & Support," please purchase a license for the period minus the free period (60 days).
