This policy applies to HULFT 10, HULFT8, HULFT-HUB, HULFT-WebFileTransfer, HULFT-SAN, DataMagic, and SIGNAlert.
License Unit
A license is required for each operating system.
- It is not dependent on the number of CPUs or cores.
Use in a redundant environment
When using in a redundant environment, a license is required for each OS installed, regardless of the product's operating status.
Standby licenses are available at a discounted price.
(1) HA cluster configuration
A cluster license is required. Licenses for the second node and beyond are 50% of the standard price.
- This applies to HULFT8, HULFT-HUB, and HULFT-WebFileTransfer. HULFT 10 is not included.
(2) Hot standby, cold standby, and backup
A license is required for both production and standby.
If the conditions are met, standby licenses (standby license) will be priced at 50% of the standard price.
Please be sure to check the applicable conditions below.
(3) FT (Fault Tolerant) server configuration
A license is not required for the standby system of the FT (Fault Tolerant) server.
Use in a development environment
We do not offer development licenses. Please purchase a standard license.
Use in a virtualized environment
A license is required for each OS (guest OS) on the virtual server.
If you use features such as live migration (※) for the purpose of redundant configuration, the number of licenses will be 1.
- This refers to the ability to move the OS to another server or switch hardware.
Use in a cloud environment
The same concept applies to cloud environments as to on-premise environments, and the above content applies.
Use with machine images
A license is required for the number of operating systems that can be run simultaneously.
- If multiple licenses are not used at the same time, the number of licenses will be one.
Use when systems are running in parallel
When replacing a server and temporarily running parallel systems, the following policy applies:
In addition, parallel operation of our products refers to the state in which the product is installed on an OS different from the OS currently being used, regardless of the product's operating status.
- (1)Free period
- There is no additional charge for parallel operation within 60 days. Please install the license you are using on a separate server.
- (2)Parallel operation beyond the free period
- If you plan to continue using the software for more than 61 days, please purchase a transitional period license (※) or an additional license.
- If you are replacing your server, you can use a transitional license. Please note that there are terms and conditions for the transitional license. Please be sure to check the applicable terms below.
