Saison Technology Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as "Saison Technology") announced that it will launch a Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution on June 5, 2024.*1) has begun offering an updated version (Ver. 10.1.0) of "HULFT 10 for Container Services," the latest in the "HULFT" lineup, which supports public cloud container orchestration services. It now supports "Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)" and "AWS Fargate," services provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS). It facilitates file integration between data utilization and AI utilization platforms built on cloud-native architecture and other systems.

Update (10.1.0) contents

Cloud Storage: Containers can now send and receive files to Amazon S3

It is now possible to send and receive files to Amazon S3. Amazon S3 is a scalable object storage service that can store large amounts of data, both unstructured and structured, allowing you to perform various types of analytics, such as dashboards and visualizations, big data processing, real-time analysis, and machine learning, to help you make better decisions.

AWS Fargate: Supports container execution environment, enabling serverless operations

Support for AWS Fargate, a computing engine that enables serverless container execution. HULFT 10 for Container Services runs on Amazon Elastic Container Services (Amazon ECS), which allows you to choose between Fargate and EC2 launch types for container execution. This update also makes it possible to select the Fargate launch type. This enables serverless container operation. The HULFT deployment process has also been simplified, allowing it to be used with just one template.

Auto-scaling: Ensures availability during heavy loads in file transfer file transfer

We have added an "auto-scaling function" that supports "scale-out," which starts additional transfer containers according to the transfer load, and "scale-in," which reduces unused transfer containers. Various resource monitoring determines the load on transfer containers. Resources can be optimized by setting up scheduled scaling.

Use case: Cloud-native data utilization and AI utilization platform and collaboration between source systems

To speed up development and improve agility, the data and AI utilization infrastructure is built on the cloud. By adopting AWS Fargate, the time spent on server operation and management, such as managing instances and applying security patches, can be reduced.

However, the data that is the source of data utilization and AI utilization is scattered across mainframes, on-premise business servers, file servers, and cloud services such as SaaS, and a process to collect it all in one place is necessary. data integration with mainframes and other legacy systems in particular is fraught with difficulties in additional development due to a shortage of engineers with the necessary expertise and the need to consider the impact on business operations.

HULFT supports multiple platforms, from mainframes to cloud, and can reliably transfer files using the same procedures on any platform. This update makes it easier to link data utilization and AI utilization platforms built on cloud-native architecture with data source systems, contributing to faster decision-making based on accurate data.

Future developments

"HULFT 10 for Container Services" is planned to be updated quarterly, and we are also considering making it compatible with container orchestration services provided by Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
