Promoting DX by seamlessly linking EDI data with mission-critical system, core system

Canon IT Solutions Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akira Kanazawa; hereinafter referred to as Canon ITS), a member of the Canon Marketing Japan Group, and Saison Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as Saison Technology) are pleased to announce the launch of a collaborative solution that combines Canon ITS's cloud EDI service, "EDI-Master Cloud," which enables electronic data exchange between companies, with Saison Technology's Japanese iPaaS cloud-based data integration platform, "HULFT Square."

Background and overview of the collaborative solution

In recent years, many Japanese companies have been promoting the migration of systems to the cloud as part of their digital transformation (DX) efforts, and the trend toward cloud-based EDI systems has also accelerated, driven by the renewal of mission-critical system, core system. However, migration to the cloud requires integration with various business systems, including on-premise systems, which poses challenges in terms of increased development time and costs.

The newly announced integration solution provides an application template *1 on HULFT Square free of charge, linking EDI-Master Cloud and HULFT Square. EDI-Master Cloud serves as the B2B interface for electronic data exchange in business-to-business transactions, while HULFT Square handles the integration of received EDI data with internal and external systems. This makes it easy to achieve seamless integration between EDI data and mission-critical system, core system.

Canon ITS has also signed a distributorship agreement with Saison Technology for HULFT Square, enabling Canon ITS to offer HULFT Square in combination with the EDI-Master Cloud service.

By combining Canon ITS's extensive track record and knowledge in EDI with Saison Technology's technology and experience in the data integration field, we will achieve seamless integration of EDI data with various systems inside and outside the company, as well as business automation.

What can be achieved by linking "EDI-Master Cloud" and "HULFT Square"?

The integrated solution using both products not only enables EDI operations (electronic data exchange between inside and outside the company) but also enables the use of "HULFT Square" to build an infrastructure for linking with existing systems within the customer's company and various SaaS services, thereby achieving seamless data integration between each business partner and mission-critical system, core system and optimizing business processes.

The expected usage scenario of this collaborative solution is as follows:

  • EDI data received via "EDI-Master Cloud" is linked to mission-critical system, core system via "HULFT Square"
  • Link EDI data from mission-critical system, core system with application templates and send EDI data to business partners
  • mission-critical system, core system and "HULFT" are used for file transfer, and EDI data is sent and received using "EDI-Master Cloud".

Furthermore, HULFT Square can also be used to format, process, convert, and match (ETL: Extract Transform Load function) EDI data being sent and received. If necessary, data can also be stored and saved from HULFT Square to cloud storage, and data can also be backed up.

Future outlook

By further deepening their collaboration, Canon ITS and Saison Technology will accelerate the provision of a platform that creates new business value and actively support customers in promoting digital transformation.
