Saison Technology Co., Ltd.
Supports mainframes, office computers, Linux, and Windows, and adds new features such as integrated management and secure internet transfers
Saison Technology Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as Saison Technology) will begin offering HULFT HULFT compatible with on-premise systems, on December 10th.
This product is the second major version upgrade since "HULFT8" was released in 2014, following the container-compatible version for Amazon ECS and other platforms that was launched in February 2024.
background
In recent years, as companies have promoted digital transformation (DX), cloud lift and cloud shift, which involve migrating IT systems that were running in on-premise environments to cloud environments as part of system reform, have been gaining momentum. However, the reality is that core systems for production, sales, inventory management, financial accounting, etc. have not made much progress in adopting or updating the latest IT technologies, and many continue to operate on mainframes, minicomputers, or on-premise Linux or Windows servers.
In this environment, corporate IT systems are becoming increasingly complex as modern environments that use cloud technology coexist with traditional on-premise environments. While there is a growing need for data integration in business departments, there are issues such as delays in data integration across different platforms due to a chronic shortage of IT engineers, as well as issues with addressing security requirements when integrating data, such as preventing data leaks and tampering, and streamlining management efforts. This calls for secure interconnection and consistent management and operation across cloud and on-premise legacy systems.
HULFT 10, the first major version upgrade in 10 years, incorporates the latest technology to go beyond simply connecting HULFT to HULFT and connect across the boundaries of all IT systems. Its functionality has been enhanced with a focus on three areas: expanding the scope of use, improving operability, and strengthening security. This enables data integration between cloud and on-premise legacy systems, while also reducing management and operational workloads.
Overview of "HULFT 10"
HULFT is file sharing middleware that sends and receives data generated in corporate activities, such as sales data, customer information, and log data, stored in IT systems. Since its launch in 1993, it has been used by more than 11,000 companies in 46 countries worldwide *1. The functional enhancements in HULFT 10 are as follows:
-
Expanded scope of use
A wide range of operating environments covering on-premise, legacy systems, and IaaS
Continued support for mainframes, office computers, Linux, Windows, and other platforms *2, and supports Amazon ECS and Red Hat OpenShift for connecting to container environments. *3 Provides a container platform version ofEliminate bottlenecks in heavily loaded systems
By changing the HULFT settings and log information from internal storage to external database storage, it is possible to build a system load balancing configuration that suits the usage situation. -
Improved operability
Improved file transfer performance and reduced compression speed and CPU usage
Adopting the new compression method "Zstandard" to speed up data transfer performance by approximately 1.4 times compared to conventional methods *4 In addition, zOS's compression method "zEDC" improves transfer speeds by 5 times and reduces CPU usage by 50%. *5Cost optimization through pay-per-use
The container platform version uses a pay-as-you-go system where you pay for the time you actually use it.Reduced management and operational workload for HULFT through integrated management middleware
HULFT 10 API Gateway provides integrated management of multiple HULFT instances distributed on-premise and on cloud using REST APIs and web interfaces. -
Enhanced security
Data encryption with FIPS140-2 certified modules
Encrypt transferred data using the FIPS140-2 certified "HULFT 10 Cipher Option (AES)" for secure file transfer.High security to protect credit card and transaction information
Implemented a function to irreversibly delete transferred data, helping systems comply with the data security standard "PCI DSS v4"Supports a mixed network environment including the Internet
HULFT 10 SmartProxy provides secure data relay between on-premise and cloud services via the Internet
The product lineup for HULFT 10, which will be released on December 10th, is as follows. Prices start from 138,000 yen per license (excluding tax for the Windows-Client version).
