HULFT 10 now available for Red Hat OpenShift

Saison Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as Saison Technology) will begin offering HULFT10 for Container Platform, a file integration middleware compatible with Red Hat OpenShift, on March 5th.

This product is the first major version upgrade of "HULFT" in 10 years, and follows the Amazon ECS compatible version launched in February 2024, and the Windows, Linux, AIX, IBMi, and zOS compatible version launched in December of the same year. It has been certified by Red Hat OpenShift Certification ^*1  As an Operator with this certification, you can run HULFT 10 in a Kubernetes container platform environment on your own infrastructure, on-premise environments provided by Red Hat's domestic partners, and fully managed services provided by major overseas cloud providers.

In recent years, there has been an accelerating trend toward modernization, whereby aging systems that have supported corporate information systems for many years are migrated to modern infrastructure such as cloud platforms. Container environments, which are lighter in weight than traditional virtualized environments and can launch applications more quickly, are also becoming more popular as a modernization method.

At the same time, it is important to minimize the impact of the transition to modern infrastructure on operations running on existing systems, and it is necessary to enable data integration between the migrated modern systems and core systems such as mainframes and minicomputers, as well as peripheral systems such as SaaS, not only on traditional platforms such as Windows and Linux, but also in container environments.

HULFT 10, which was developed with the concept of connecting all IT systems across boundaries, now supports Red Hat OpenShift, an enterprise container orchestration platform, providing powerful support for the modernization of legacy systems in hybrid environments centered on container platforms.

Overview of "HULFT10 for Container Platform"

"HULFT10 for Container Platform" is Red Hat OpenShift Certification Operator certified ^*1  It can be deployed in a container environment while retaining the functionality of HULFT 10 series.

It consists of a management container and a transfer container, and the management container manages management information and history, and provides a web screen for managing job linkage via API and transfer container control, etc. The transfer container executes data integration based on file transfer by "HULFT", and can be used in a configuration where multiple transfer containers are placed under one management container.

The features of "HULFT10 for Container Platform" are as follows:

1. Ensures service availability and business continuity by automatically starting up transport containers according to transport load and restarting them in the event of a failure.
2. Web API can be called before and after file transfer, automatically connecting with external services and business applications
3. Management information and history are stored in a persistent area independent of the container, which is highly fault-tolerant, making it easy to transfer and back up between containers.

• 1 Red Hat OpenShift Certification certifies the quality and reliability of the "Operator" as a Kubernetes cluster management method.
• 2 A monthly usage fee is charged for one management container per Pod. Multiple transfer containers can be configured and used under a management container.
