Saison Technology Co., Ltd.
On April 1, 2024, Saison Technology Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as "Saison Technology") became a new member of the Nikkei Women's Empowerment Project, a program sponsored by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun and Nikkei BP aimed at companies striving for gender equality in management.
Nearly 40 years have passed since the Equal Employment Opportunity Act was enacted in May 1985. However, according to the "Women's Digital Human Resources Development Plan" adopted by the Cabinet Office's Gender Equality Bureau in 2022, while 45% of Japan's workforce is female, only 19% of IT engineers are female. Meanwhile, there are concerns that generative AI may learn and exacerbate the gender gaps and biases inherent in today's society, making this situation urgently necessary from a technological perspective. While our company's female employee ratio is 26.8%*1 and female managerial ratio is 13.9%*2, both of which are high compared to the industry average, we recognize there is significant room for improvement. We hope to use our participation in this project as an opportunity to accelerate efforts to close the gender gap both inside and outside the company.

We have identified "people" as a materiality (important issue), and within that, improving the employment and promotion situation for women is one of our most important issues. The essence of data utilization lies in taking action to solve the issues behind the data, and it is a step towards realizing a better future.
