Saison Technology Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Makoto Hayama; hereinafter referred to as "Saison Technology") has expanded the scope of its sleep testing, which it had been trialling in consideration of the impact of sleep on health, to all employees aged 40 and over, and has been fully implementing the test since November.
This sleep test utilizes the brainwave measurement device "InSomnograf" and AI (artificial intelligence) technology from S'UIMIN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masashi Yanagisawa). It was piloted in July for managers aged 40 and over.* Approximately 30% of the participants in this pilot study were diagnosed with sleep apnea syndrome (SAS). The company supported them in seeking medical advice from specialists to improve their sleep. However, it was discovered that many of these employees were unaware of the condition. Sleep apnea syndrome is often associated with lifestyle-related diseases, and if left untreated, it can increase the risk of developing myocardial infarction and stroke. Saison Technology has identified "people" as one of its materiality issues, and believes supporting employee health is at the core of this. To protect employee health, the company determined that sleep testing can help detect unconscious risks early and lead to treatment. Therefore, the company expanded the scope of the test to include all employees aged 40 and over, the target age for specific health checkups.
Furthermore, going forward, Saison Technology will utilize its strengths as a "data connecting specialist" that it has cultivated, to link sleep test results with data such as attendance data and exercise habits to explore correlations with sleep issues, and to promote the use of data to identify risks in advance and use them for prevention.
