Saison Technology Co., Ltd. has published a case study detailing the background and reasons for AGC Glass Products Inc.'s (hereinafter referred to as AGC Glass Products) adoption of "HULFT Square" with the aim of creating an environment for data-driven sales activities.

AGC Glass Products has achieved a monthly efficiency improvement of 270 hours by using "HULFT Square" as a data integration platform for collecting and processing necessary data from both inside and outside the company, unifying the reporting format which varied by sales representative's area, and automating the manual creation of reports.

background

AGC Glass Products, part of the AGC Group which boasts a world-leading market share in architectural flat glass, plays a central role in Japan and Asia. It manufactures and develops high-value-added architectural glass, such as energy-saving Low-E double-glazed glass and laminated glass that contributes to disaster prevention, safety, and security, used in various buildings including office buildings, houses, and condominiums, and is committed to creating products that meet the needs of living environments and lifestyles.

Currently, we are promoting our group medium-term management plan, "AGC plus-2026," and our vision for 2030 is to "contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through the provision of unique materials and solutions, and to be an excellent company that continues to grow and evolve."

Reasons for adopting "HULFT Square" and the effects of its implementation

Although AGC Glass Products utilized various data, including mission-critical system, core system, in its area sales activities, the information was scattered throughout the company. As a result, a significant amount of time was spent collecting data for materials to be shared at regular sales meetings and creating reports using Excel and other tools.

Therefore, in order to streamline tasks such as information gathering and document creation for data utilization, and to create an environment where time can be spent on high-value-added tasks including proposal activities, we needed an environment based on the cloud service "kintone," which enables no-code development, that can flexibly data integration with mission-critical system, core system, and that can also utilize "AWS PrivateLink," which allows secure access to the AWS environment where mission-critical system, core system run.

We decided to implement "HULFT Square" because it offers easy connection via "AWS PrivateLink," has a connector for "kintone," and can effectively offload processing in "HULFT," which has API restrictions for external integrations, as well as the ability to process large amounts of data from mission-critical system, core system. We also valued the reliability we had from using file transfer middleware "HULFT Square" internally. Furthermore, we cited the following benefits of implementing "HULFT Square":

  • Automating report creation resulted in a 270-hour monthly efficiency gain.
  • This enables situational assessment based on sales activity history and figures, realizing data-driven management.
  • Digital success fosters a DX culture and creates a foundation for bottom-up policy development.
