“DX Certification System”

We will explain the meaning of the DX certification system.

What is the DX Certification System?

The DX Certification System is a national certification system for businesses that comply with the basic requirements of the Digital Governance Code, based on the Act on Promotion of Information Processing. It was launched in 2020 with the aim of promoting DX (digital transformation) among Japanese companies.

The Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) handles the certification screening process for the DX Certification System, with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry making the final decision on certified businesses. Certification requires businesses to be ready to transform their business through digital technology (DX-Ready). Applications can be submitted year-round, and there are no application fees. All businesses are eligible, regardless of whether they are listed or unlisted, large or small, or corporations or sole proprietors.

Businesses that receive DX certification will have their names published on the DX Promotion Portal and will be able to use the DX certification logo. DX certification also qualifies them for tax deductions under the DX Investment Promotion Tax System.
