What is Ethereum?

Ethereum, also written as Ethereum (ETH), is the name of a platform equipped with smart contracts and blockchain technology. The cryptocurrency (virtual currency) used within the platform is called Ether (ETH), but in Japan, both the cryptocurrency and the platform are commonly referred to as Ethereum.

Ethereum's smart contract function, which codes contract details and automatically executes them when certain conditions are met, ensures transparency and reliability in the execution of contracts. In addition, contracts can be concluded without the involvement of a third party, eliminating the need for intermediary fees. Ethereum is also known as a platform featuring DApps (decentralized applications) and a mining system called PoW.
