What is digitalization?

Digitalization refers to the digitalization of specific business or manufacturing processes. It refers to optimizing the entire business process using digital technology to improve operational efficiency and increase the added value of products and services. Typical examples include the significant labor-saving and automation of data entry tasks through the introduction of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and AI-OCR, or the integration and efficiency of sales and marketing activities through the combination of systems such as SFA (Sales Force Automation), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and MA (Marketing Automation). A word very similar to digitalization is digitization, which refers to the digitalization of paper media and analog information. Digitization, along with digitalization, is an important step in promoting DX (digital transformation). Generally, digitization is the gateway to promoting DX, while digitalization is considered a precursor to DX.
